The Sightline into San Francisco

  “Just Thinking” I was reflecting on how much the sightline into San Francisco changed over the years, thinking back on the view from the back seat of the family station wagon, so many things have changed and although many of my memories are fuzzy, some are quite clear, I did have to cheat a bit and search some stuff to see what I could find to bolster my recollection in some cases. One of my vivid memories is of the giant Mr. Peanut sign on top of the Planters Peanuts building; it also had little Mr. Peanuts on the parapet surrounding the building. When we saw Mr. Peanut, we knew that we were almost home, the factory was located at the intersection of Bayshore Boulevard and Paul Avenue which was one exit away from our house. The company closed the factory in 1976, and the following year, U-Haul took over the property, making it a moving and storage facility, which is still there today. Seller Expectations vs. Reality: New Data Highlights a Growing Disconnect

A new report from Clever Offers shows a striking mismatch between what homeowners  think  will happen when they list and what sellers who’ve actually been through the process experienced over the past year. The survey polled 500 Americans who sold between early 2024 and early 2025 and another 500 who plan to sell by mid-2026. The results reveal a serious gap between market perception and market reality, one that could sabotage seller expectations if agents aren’t having the right conversations early. Sellers Expect Over-Asking Offers, Quick Sales, and Minimal Compromises Confidence is high. Reality? Not so much. Is Price the New Location?

Know how “location, location, location” has always been the number one priority (generally speaking) when it comes to buying a property? Well, according to a new Coldwell Banker survey, price is now more important for over half the surveyed consumers (56%), leaving location in second place (50%). Also, according to survey results, women (60%) are more likely than men (48%) to value a home’s price more than its location. But even with the stronger emphasis on affordability, 31% of consumers who bought a home last year (2023) bought their dream home. And among those planning to sell in the future, nearly two-thirds (66%) plan to relocate to a different city, state, or country. While many consumers made their dream home purchase last year, the data show that some desire to seek new horizons.
